Lucas has played international tours in Europe, Canada, South Africa, Japan and the Middle East. He has performed at festivals such as Sziget, Montreal Jazz festival and North Sea Jazz festival.

A few years after studying at the conservatory, he felt a need for personal growth. He started looking for other ways to use the power of music in the world. During this search he came across the work of Musicians without Borders and worked for them as a trainer for two years. After this, Lucas started the Sounds of Change foundation in 2017, with the aim of training changemakers in using the power of music to enable social change. Sounds of Change train adults and young people of all ages from local partner organisations, such as schools, NGOs, and conflict-zone community centers, so they can enhance their work in education and Psycho-Social Support (PSS) with music.

Lucas worked with children and trained caregivers, aid workers and psychologists in refugee camps and marginalised communities in Lebanon, Jordan, Northeast Syria, Northern Iraq, Rwanda, Tanzania, Iraq, Egypt, India, Ukraine, Serbia, Greece, Turkey and the West Bank (Palestine).

Lucas took courses in nonviolent communication, Art of Hosting, Rock & Water and enrolled at Knowmads, an alternative, creative business school in Amsterdam that focuses on social entrepreneurship. Lucas is also trained in Trauma Sensitive Support by Trauma International.
